Dielectric Testing of Materials

QuadTech offers a number of different dielectric cells for measurements on liquids, solid materials, high temperature applications and in process liquid measurements.

Dielectric Cells for Different Applications

A complete system for dielectric constant measurements includes an LCR meter for capacitance and dissipation factor measurements, the dielectric cell, and the connecting cables and adapters. This system allows rapid, precise measurements over a wide frequency range. This application note describes various dielectric cells for measuring dielectric constant and dissipation factor on solids, powders and liquids.

Liquid Cell

QuadTech sells the following Dielectric Cells:

QuadTech manufactures many LCR meters that can be used for a variety of dielectric cell applications. For example, the 7600 Plus tests the measurement of dielectric constant and the dissipation factor of materials and liquids.

Practical Guide to Avoiding Errors in Measurement when using a Rigid Dielectric Cell

There are several ASTM standards when dealing with dielectric constant testing of various materials and liquids. This application note gives a practical example of measuring dielectric constant on a sample of aluminum oxide ceramic following the test methods outlined in ASTM D150 using rigid metal electrodes with a guard-ring. QuadTech's 7600 Precision LCR Meter was also used.
