Capacitive Fuel Probes and Dielectric Constant

Capacitive fuel probes or gauges are used in a variety of applications from aerospace to marine. The principle of operation is very similar to measuring the dielectric constant of materials.

Measurement of the dielectric constant of materials and liquid uses a dielectric cell or liquid cell that acts as a capacitor.

 

 Dielectric constant can be performed easier and faster than other analysis techniques. A complete system for dielectric constant measurements includes an LCR meter and a dielectric cell. This system allows rapid, precise measurements over a wide frequency range.

 

There are a wide variety of dielectric cells for use with LCR Meters for measurement of dielectric constant of liquids, pastes and solid materials.
