QUADTECH, INC. ANNOUNCES NEW SERIES OF HIPOT TEST EQUIPMENT WITH
BREAKTHROUGH SAFETY TECHNOLOGY
Marlboro, MA - January 25, 1999 - QuadTech, Inc. introduces the Guardian 2500 Series of Hipot testers. The Series features Patent Pending Ground Fault Interruption (GFI) circuits that are new to the industry and available exclusively from QuadTech. The Guardian 2510, 2520 and 2530 Hipot testers are designed to perform the most common electrical safety tests outlined in UL, TUV, IEC and other standards.
Responses to an independent Hipot testing and Hipot user survey found one of the most important concerns of users is operator safety. QuadTech now offers a unique safety feature designed to protect operators from inadvertent contact with high voltage. The GFI circuits are unique to Hipot testers and make QuadTech's Guardian 2500 Series Hipot tester "The Safest Choice©" for production and compliance testing of appliances, instruments and information technology equipment, transformer electrical safety testing, electric motor safety testing and a variety of electronic components. As with all other QuadTech products, the Series has a 45 day money back guarantee as well as a guaranteed trade-in program.
In addition to QuadTech's technical breakthrough with GFI, the Guardian Series features Arc Detection, which checks the magnitude and duration of any deviations from user selected values of arc level and duration. Pre-configured factory setups for "out-of-the-box" testing also distinguish the Guardian 2500 Series from other electrical safety testers.
Offering multi-step capabilities in Hipot testing, the Series allows the user to perform up to three tests in a sequence, and it shows the test results for all three steps at the end of the sequence. Internal memory provides 25 user setups and nine multi-step sequences with three steps each. Each Hipot tester in the 2500 Series can measure or calculate real, imaginary and total current, making the units ideal for compensating and measuring capacitive types of devices.
The Guardian 2510 AC Hipot Tester performs AC dielectric withstand (Hipot) tests, allowing the test voltage to be programmed in the range from 100VAC to 5KVAC with a resolution of 2V. The 2510 is ideally suited to displaying the real current for measurements on capacitive devices, such as power supplies, and it measures currents down to 1µA.
The Guardian 2520 AC/DC Hipot Tester has all the features of the 2510 plus it offers DC Hipot testing. Test voltage can be programmed from 100VDC to 6KVDC with a resolution of 2V and current measuring capability down to 0.1µA. In addition to the features of the 2510 and the 2520, the Guardian 2530 AC/DC/IR Hipot Tester measures insulation resistance. The IR measurement range is exceptionally wide for electrical safety testers, ranging from 10kW to 2TW with test voltages from 50 to 1000VDC.
All Guardian 2500 testers feature programmable output voltage to 5KV AC, GFI for operator safety, programmable ramp and test times, continuous leakage current monitoring, ground continuity test with adjustable limits, password-protected front panel lockout, review of data after measurement, and remote interface is standard; IEEE-488, RS232 or advanced remote is optional.
The Guardian family is part of QuadTech's complete line of electrical safety test products. For applications which require only basic electrical safety tests that do not require computer interfaces, QuadTech offers the Sentry Family of Hipot Testers.
