Matrix 8000 Scanning System

Description

Industry's First Modular Scanning System: Used with the Guardian 6100 Plus Safety Analyzer and CaptivATE software, the Matrix 8000 provides a system capable of scanning ground bond, hipot and leakage current as required by IEC 60601-1 as well as the Particular Standards IEC 60601-2-XX.

Module Functions: The eight modules are generally used to make the following connections:

• AC Line - AC Mains (Power)
• AC Line 2 - Signal Input/Signal Output Part SIP/SOP
• GBF-2 -  Floating Ground and Ground Bond
• General -  Patient (Applied Part)
• Earth - PE (Protective Earth)
• GB - Ground Bond
• Switch - Internally Powered Devices (Specified Power Supply)
• Blank - No connection, used as a cover plate for empty slot

Matrix Standard Configuration: For testing Class I and Class II Mains-Powered Medical Devices with 4 B, BF or CF Applied Parts, this Matrix 8000 frame is configured with 1 AC Line module, 1 GBF-2 module, 1 Earth module, 1 AC Line 2 module and 1 General module.

Need More Patient Connections: Add 1, 2 or 3 General modules to the standard configuration for an additional 4, 8 or 12 points. The maximum number of patient connections is 16 (4 General modules).

Test Internally Powered Devices: For testing Class I and Class II Internally-Powered Medical Devices a Switch module is added to the Matrix Standard Configuration. The Switch module permits the specified power supply to stay powered-on while opening/closing designated switches to measure the leakage current of the medical device under normal/single fault operating conditions.

Power-up Computerized Devices: As part of the Sentinel System, the Matrix 8000 is capable of powering up computerized devices and not initiating a test until the computer is fully powered.

Devices Stay Powered On: When performing leakage current scanning, the device under test remains powered on - drastically reducing test time.
