Maynard, MA - QuadTech, Inc. announced that it has added three new Hipot testers to its widely accepted family of Sentry Hipot Testers, for electrical safety testing of appliances, motors, cables, medical devices, and a multitude of electronic products and components. The Sentry Plus Series builds on the performance and proven reliability of the Sentry family, by offering an array of features usually not available in its price range.

The Sentry Plus Series includes three models to choose from:

• The Sentry 10 Plus Hipot Tester performs AC Hipot tests over a programmable voltage range from 50 to 5000VAC with a pass/fail leakage current detection range from 1µA to 20mA.
• The Sentry 20 Plus model incorporates all features of the Sentry 10 Plus, as well as DC Hipot testing to 6000VDC and a current detection range from 0.1µA to 5mA.
• The Sentry 30 Plus model incorporates all the features of the Sentry 20 Plus, as well as Insulation Resistance (IR) measurement capability over the range of 100k to 50G, at test voltages from 50 to 1000VDC.

The Sentry Plus Series features a user friendly interface for easy setup. Its large LCD display clearly indicates programmed test conditions, and the output voltage and leakage current at the test connection to the device. The units meet UL Hipot tester requirements by employing both visual and audible fail indicators as well as the necessity to reset the unit after a failure, prior to making another measurement. Besides fast device discharge and rapid shutdown on fail, the Sentry Plus includes the Ground Fault Interruption (GFI) circuit, a safety feature designed to shut down the unit should an operator inadvertently come in contact with the output.

Unique to the Sentry Plus is the ability to run one or more stand alone continuity tests, with programmable pass/fail limits and display of measured results over the range of 0.1 to 5 ohms. The instrument is capable of performing 10 individual tests in sequence with the push of one button, and pause if necessary (with prompt messages) allowing an operator to change lead connections to the devices under test. With its remote start input and pass/fail outputs the Sentry Plus adapts quickly to most any manufacturer's production test environment.

QuadTech also makes available the Sentry 50 Ground Bond Tester for use with the Sentry Plus, which provides high current testing of the ground connection on an electrical product. When used together the two instruments provide complete product testing (voltage breakdown and ground bond) with the push of one button.
